Hello Bloom Families,

As the festive season approaches, we’re wrapping up an incredible term filled with creativity, growth, and plenty of memorable moments. This time of year is all about celebration and reflection, and we’re so proud of everything your children have achieved. Before we head off to enjoy the holidays, we wanted to share some highlights and updates with you. So, as you deck the halls and enjoy the sparkle of the season, here’s a little look back at what we’ve been up to.

What We’ve Been Learning About

This term, we’ve been focusing on three key areas of personal growth, brought to life through our scripts and class discussions. Here’s what we’ve been exploring:

  1. Recognising Comparison as an Unhealthy Thought Pattern

What we’ve learned: How comparing ourselves to others can hold us back, and recognising when our characters are doing the same.

Statements to remember:

Don’t be the best, be your best.

Personal growth is always about us and no one else.

Don’t compare, be self-aware.

  1. Understanding and Embracing Mistakes

What we’ve learned: Mistakes are a normal part of life and can help us grow when met with self-compassion.

Statements to remember:

Fix it. Apologise. Move on.

  1. Practising Self-Acceptance

What we’ve learned: Embracing who we are, understanding our strengths, and recognising how our characters might struggle with self-love.

Statments to remember:

  • Embrace what makes you unique.

  • Let go of what you can’t change.

  • Identify your strengths.

  • Set goals.

  • Celebrate your accomplishments.

  • Plan ahead.

  • Think positively.

  • Be kind to yourself.

  • Get involved.

  • Find support.

Updates

We’re thrilled with how much effort the students have put into learning their lines and embodying their characters. Their dedication is truly shining through. A special shoutout to Liam (OLOR), Hannah (EM), Michelle (SA) who earned themselves 50 stars in the Bloom Books for memorising all 57 statements we’ve been practising this term. What an incredible achievement!

A Festive Reminder

As the holidays approach, we encourage students to keep working on their lines over Christmas. Scripts have been emailed home, so if you’re unsure where to find yours, simply search for “script” in your inbox. To add a little extra motivation, the prize box will be in for the first week back in January for anyone who is confidently off script. Let’s start the new year strong!

Memorable Moment

This term has been filled with special moments, but one particularly heartwarming comment came from Zoe at St Hilda’s, who announced to her class: “It’s just not the same practising at home without my friends because they’re such good actors.” Moments like these remind us of the magic of theatre and teamwork!

Reminder: your child is taking part in an examined performance in February 2025 and is required to wear their Bloom T-Shirt for the exam. Please get in contact if you need to order a replacement.

Exam Performance Dates:

Celebrating Our Stars of the Term

Hannah & Romy (EM): Delivered the most outstanding performance of their scene we’ve ever seen in Bloom’s history, setting an incredible example for all students.

Niamh (OLOR): Fully embraced every challenge this term, stepping out of her comfort zone with enthusiasm and delivering fantastic characterisation. We can’t wait to see her continue to grow!

Mary (SA): Showing newfound confidence and a growing passion for drama, Mary has truly started to shine in her performances. Her ability to dive into character is wonderful to see!

Albert (SH): Demonstrated excellent expression and consistently encouraged his peers while maintaining impeccable behaviour, making him a true role model in class.

Eva (V – Eleanor’s Group): A brilliant addition to the class, Eva has already shown creativity and enthusiasm, and we’re so pleased to have her on board.

Hannah (V - Charlotte's Group): Hannah's behaviour has always been of an impeccable standard. She sets an example for her peers through her commitment, positivity and unwavering encouragement of everyone around her.

Cara, Sophia, Katy, Sam & Amy A (PYTA): Made a fantastic start on their poetry performance, delving deep into their text with analysis that’s truly impressive, reaching degree-level insight.

Congratulations to all our stars for their hard work and dedication this term!
